Who it is for
Marketers, analytics engineers, agencies and e-commerce teams who inherit or maintain Google Tag Manager containers and need to know what is in them. Containers grow for years, and nobody has time to read every tag.
What a Dr.GTM audit finds
- Duplicate conversion tags, and the same event sent by more than one tag
- Missing Consent Mode v2 signals and marketing tags with no consent check
- Purchase tags missing currency or value, and conversions with no deduplication ID
- Unused tags, triggers, variables and folders, and paused tags left behind
- Overlapping or duplicate triggers
- Inconsistent event and dataLayer naming, such as snake_case mixed with camelCase
- Large Custom HTML tags that slow the page down
How it works
- Sign in with Google. Dr.GTM asks for read-only access to your Tag Manager containers. It cannot change anything at this stage.
- Pick a container. Choose an account and container. Dr.GTM reads its tags, triggers, variables and templates and runs its checks.
- Read the report. You get a health score and an itemised list of findings, ranked as critical, warning or info, with the affected items named.
- Fix what you choose (optional). If you want Dr.GTM to apply fixes, it asks for edit access, puts the changes in a draft workspace so you can review the difference, and never publishes for you.
Cost
You get one free audit every day. Further audits and applying fixes use credits, which you buy once with no subscription. See the FAQ for the details.
Is Dr.GTM made by Google?
No. Dr.GTM is an independent tool that works with Google Tag Manager through Google's official API. Google Tag Manager is a trademark of Google LLC.
